Gadget Notes Nomad Apple Watch Battery Charger

Date:  Jan 11, 2016

Ever since June last year until now, Apple Watch is on my wrist daily.  It has become my fitness device, my watch and social media notification device.  I don’t use a lot of apps on it at all.

IMG 9311

So far I am very please with it.

The only thing that I am not so happy with is the Apple Charging cable.

It’s long and ugly.

And I am so reluctant to bring another “lose” cable in my bag along.  I already have one lightning cable, so I should not need another cable.

IMG 9301

So, what is my solution?

Yes, Nomad Pod Charger for Apple Watch, solve it all.

IMG 9314

This is the Nomad Pod Charger.  It looks like a ice hockey puck.   (Of course, you can remove the USB cable).

IMG 9303

There is a USB port inside for you to plug your Apple Watch charger in it.

IMG 9304

Then, you start coiling the cable.

IMG 9305

Until like this.  And place the charging pad nicely fit into the holder provided.

IMG 9307

Then, cover it.  The cover is magnetically attached.

IMG 9302

Then, simply placed your Apple Watch on top of it.

IMG 9312

And it starts charging the Apple Watch.

WAIT NOW!  I have not plug in the power yet!  ??

Yes, this is a Portable Battery too.

Basically, you charge the Apple Watch without cable plug in.

When you plug in the cable, it will charge the Apple Watch and at the same time charges the battery.

Very cool product.

IMG 9313

It has the battery indicator.

IMG 9310

So, when I travel, I bring along this.  Usually I have a micro USB cable.  So, you can use the iPhone power adapter to charge this.

And I don’t have to deal with the ugly cable.

IMG 9317

Unique selling point.

I bought it at US$59.95, now I just check, it is on sales.  They ship it to Singapore too.

Maid Support

Date:  Jan 8, 2016

During the absence of our Domestic helper (Dec 22, 2015 until Jan 5, 2016), we have two maid support.  “Maid Support” I guess means the person who support the Domestic Helper.

They learned how to spin the mob and make sure the floor is clean.

 IMG 8231

Older kids can start learning how to wash dishes.

IMG 7760

So, they will be tasked to do rice dumplings “Tang Yuan”.

IMG 7636

Look at my BB-8 Tang Yuan.

IMG 7643

One day, we teach Jay Jay how to cook.  So, he cook the Japanese Curry (errr… the beef is quite hard), Stir fried beef capsicum (which is quite nice) and steam tofu.

IMG 8257

In the morning, Jay Jay will fried eggs for us.

IMG 8262

Not too bad.

IMG 8263

The second day, we have even better, improved breakfast.

IMG 8278

He tried cooking scramble eggs too.

IMG 8279

Jay Jay is 10 years old this year.  So, it is a good time for him to learn how to cook.

Of course the food are simple food.  All materials are pre-cut for him.  All he needs to do is to turn on the stove, heat it up, and stir fry or cook it.

It is a good start.

And the whole family enjoys his food.  Those that is not edible, we will slow cook it for another 1 hour for next day.

Of course, they will also task to prepare their washed cloths.  Sort it out and place it in the correct cupboard, and so on.

The two boys has grown up and happily accepted their tasks to help out.

And we survive that two weeks plus without domestic helper at home.  Cool!

Our First Real RC Cars

Date:  Dec 25, 2015

It’s Christmas!  Merry Christmas!

IMG 7918

Perhaps they are most happy to see these two presents from me.  I always wanted to buy RC cars.  But those that I bought from Toy R’ Us are not really RC Cars.  Those are … powerless.  Yeap, may be the best word to describe it is powerless.

I bought these from Sim Lim Square 2nd floor, Hobby Square.  They only carry 1 brand, and that’s it.  And I must say, after I seen it run, it is a “Real” RC cars.  Where you can play it at the race track at East Coast Park or at the Bukit Panjang MRT off road track there.

IMG 7909

Let’s give it a run.  I bought both green color, but different shape.

IMG 8011

Let’s try it.  WOW!

WOW!  It is so powerful the motor.  And it is fast too.

Watch out for this reckless driver.

IMG 4225

Kay Kay keeps driving the car hitting the curb.

Take a look at the slow motion action here.

And as a result after 20 min of playing… two dog bones broken, one dog bone cup missing, suspension leaking oil.  Hahahahahaha…

The RC car cannot move at all.  This is the dog bone holding the wheels and rotates it.  And you can imagine the impact of the crash is so hard that the RC car was completely dead after that.

IMG 8016

Reading manual time!

IMG 8017

This is intense.

IMG 8018

That is the parts was broken.

IMG 8019 1

So, we brought it back to Sim Lim, and get it fixed.  I also upgraded to a better dog bone (one piece) and metal.  So that it will so easily break again.

We have to changed the whole front and real dog bones, considered it an upgrade.

Also fixed the suspension, as it was leaking oil.  They have to find a “cup” to hole the dog bone too.

After this, the kids really know how to "handle it with care” means.

IMG 8029

Especially mr. Kay.  HaHaHa… punish him to eat more.

Our Kids Has Grown Up 孩子们都长大了 Happy Mid Autumn Festival

Date:  Sep 27, 2015

We gave life to them 9 & 6 years ago, and look at them today, blink blink, they have all grown up.

It has been an exciting journey so far, and it’s going to be another long and exciting journey ahead.

IMG 0931

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Look at the sky.  Do you see that big round round moon?

It was amazing.  Just two days ago, the country is in distress and have to cancel school and O-level exams for Primary School and Secondary School.

The west side of Singapore has hit a dangerous level of PSI > 350.

Then, on that day itself, blue sky started to appear.  And look at today, the sky is just perfect!

Don’t feel like having haze at all.

IMG 0860 1

That is why all of us gear up and joining the carry lantern event from Ayer Rajah CC walking to the ???.

IMG 0947

We are going to park our car at Lukas and Ashlyn’s condo, and then, we walk from there across the AYE to the Chinese temple where there is a Getai & dinner set up already there,

IMG 0845

These kids has known each others back in Lorna Whiston Pre-School as young as 18 months.

The stay close by each other and have done a lot of activities together.

Look how much they have grown.

IMG 0848

This is probably the first time these two kids walking across AYE holding hands.  :)

IMG 0873

You can really tell how happy these kids are.  See, even dancing pattern came out.

IMG 0856

This is the Getai.  Later everyone will come here.

IMG 0863

We are at the CC now.  And it seems that we are the last one to arrive.

IMG 0875

But when the Lion Dance was leading, we instantly become leading the Lantern crows.  hahahahaha

This is probably the first time they carry lanterns with so many people they have not seen before..

IMG 0886

They just pop the popper, and both Kay and Colette pick up some shining paper from the ground...

IMG 0891

The Chinese opera… Learn the Chinese cultures...

IMG 0893

The Liew boys and the Smith girls.

IMG 0897

????

IMG 0899

We are waiting for people who went to the toilet.

IMG 0901

Thanks to the weather and no haze.

Boon Ching make a remark: “We don’t get this kid of clear sky where you can see the moon so clearly every year."

Someone: “But today is not Mid-Autumn Festival yet!"

Ya hor, come to think about it… what if tomorrow the sky rains?  what if the haze came back?

So, today, we see the weather so nice, better do it today instead of tomorrow...

IMG 0910

Everyone must be thirsty.  Let’s drink some orange juice.  It says Orange juice on this big drink container.

IMG 0908

Fixing the lantern.  And let’s take a walk.

IMG 0918

The moon is so round and bright tonight.  (I didn’t bring my Super Zoom camera, this is the best I can shoot).

IMG 0922

It will be a waste if we didn’t take a photo with the moon as our background.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

IMG 0923

Some thing not right…. Yeah… their heights… Let’s rearrange them.  Better...

IMG 0930

Kay Kay is like singing here.

IMG 0934

The kid’s childhood does not come by chance.

It depends on the parents who “pakat” so to make things happen.

Both Jay & Kay has make friends with the Faber Crest families.  They playdate together.  They study together.  They went on holidays together.  And again and again, we the parents hope to give them the best friendships, childhood so that they can cherish and remember forever.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!  ??????
