This APK can be installed on any Android TV Set Top box, i.e. Xiaomi, FireTV, 10Moons, TMall, Minix, etc etc.

You can pay for your content using this App, if you want to.

The cost of it is from US$48 to $80 like that depending on which package you want to subscribe.

For me, I just use the FREE CONTENT.

There are just too many channels to browse.  So, one way to make it simple is...

GO TO AREA menu.

SELECT Singapore.

It will list out the available Singapore Channels.

SELECT any channel you want to watch.  For example Mediacorp 5 HD.

Make sure you can run that channel with no problem, no delay, decent speed, and picture quality is good or acceptable.

Then, you go back to the channel listing, select that channel again, and HOLD your OK button on your remote.  Once you HOLD long enough, it will say “OK, this channel is in your favourites”.  So, you have just added a channel into your favourite folder.

So, you continue do this and adding those channel that works.

Go different country.  Like Malaysia, Hong Kong, United States, United Kingdom, and so on.

This is my Favourites folder.

I have all the Singapore channels, some Japanese TV channels.

I have ABC, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg.  Also BT Sport.

I have Hong Kong TV Channels and Malaysia TV Channels.

Malaysia & Taiwan Channels.

I also have some China TV channels. 

Nowadays, I found no much different in terms of the performance from the pay content and the free content.

Some times these free contents will come and go.  But it is good enough.

At least I have a way to watch Singapore channels.

You got to have patient in browsing thru all your channels and pick the one that run best on your Internet Service Provider.

Not all channels work the same on different ISP.

So, depend on the ISP your have, you might have a total different list of channels that work best for you.

This is only one of the APK I have for watching live TV.

Let It Go Butterfly

Date:  Aug 23, 2015

One day, Blue Blue, my blue eye cat, was caught playing with “something” in his paws and mouth.

When you get close to see it, it was a bright green caterpillar, may be drop from the leaves in one of the pot in our balcony garden.

My wife thus place teh caterpillar into a plastic container.  Of course, we place some leaves and water in it.

Few days later, the green caterpillar ate quite some leaves before turning itself into a pupa.

Another few days later… which is today.

Jay suddenly shouted and say “Mommy, mommy, the butterfly has come out…."

And there you go, the butterfly that we saved from Blue Blue’s paw.

As it is just came out from the pupa, the butterfly is learning how to flap its wings.

It is actually quite a nice butterfly.  Very pretty.

She still flapping the wings.  And she is ready to fly.

So, we have decided to “let it go”.

So that the butterfly can find a new home in our herbs garden downstairs.

We let Kay Kay do it.  So, Kay Kay will let the butterfly go, and let her has her freedom.

She was a bit scare in the beginning, but as soon as she flapped a few times of her wings, she flew off.

Bye bye butterfly.

Of course, I did not waste this opportunity for Jay Jay to learn his Chinese Composition.

So, I quickly draw out my iPad and ask him and the brother to think about the Butterfly event, and write a small passage of it.

So, the journey from home to Millenia Walk is only 15-20 minutes. 

As you can see, this is what he comes up with.  Not too bad.

I recon that this will give him may be 5/10.  So, thru out the day, we discuss about the whole event.

Instead of “my cat”, I asked him to think, where is the cat?  Where he (the cat) finds the caterpillar?

Instead of “let it go”, how he fly away?

What about the conclusion, any thoughts he wanted to write down?

During lunch time, we talked about it.

After he took his Taekwondo grading, we talked about it.

While going from Millenia Walk to the Turf City, before the drawing class, we have another 20 minutes or so, for him to work on it.

And this is the revised version.  

Much longer version.

He knows learned the important thing of “describing”.

Describe our cat is naughty.

Describe where our cat found the caterpillar.

Describe why the cat is naughty?  See the caterpillar, wanted to bite it.

Describe the how he tell mommy about it.

Describe how the butterfly is scare and don’t want to fly out.

Tell who is the one brought the butterfly downstairs.

Describe how he touch the butterfly and make it fly away.

Describe what was his feeling?  Happy.

Describe why?  Because he let the butterfly regain his freedom.

This is a very short event.  But writing it down involves constant thinking and asking questions about the 6 “Ws”.

Who?

Why?

When?

Where?

What?

How?

And after we have done with the Chinese composition, I will let him speak out from his mind in English.  Again, asking him to “describe”.

He won’t learn it straight away. 

But I am sure, thru the training, and exercising, he is more confident and grabs the concepts of writing.

Writing is about describing.

Writing is about asking the 6 “Ws”.

Why I love to read the Hardy Boys Junior Files for them every night.

That is because these Hardy Boys books focus in asking the 6 Ws to solve crime.

And I show him a way how to use technology, the Dragon Dictation to quickly jot down the chinese sentence thru speaking.

First you learn how to pronounce things correctly.  Second, you quickly write down the Chinese senates.  For words you don’t know, as long as you can read, you can use the Han Yu Pin Yin to find the words.  In P3 Chinese composition, they are allow to use the dictionary.  Be it hard copy or electronic.

Hopefully, thru these methods, I can help my boy to improve his writing in both Chinese and English.  Yeah, Dragon Dictation can change the languages to English or Mandarin.

GE2015 An Important Lesson to My Son

Today seems to be an important day for Apple back in US.  But in Singapore, it was the last day of political parties rallies.  Tomorrow, it will be a cool off day, and on Friday, it will be the biggest days for all my Singaporean friends.  Vote wisely.

As part of the education we the parents give to our children, I brought my son Jay Jay to an election rally.

Since it is the last day, and this rally is near by at Clementi Ave 6, we walk there.

Earlier, some friends asked me to go with them.

I thought it would be fun.

So, I tell them to park the car at Park West.  And I cook them a pot of bee-boon to support them.

We managed to saw some of yesterday’s rally highlights too.

I am very sure the turn out is not as great as the Workers Party, but it was a lot of people filling in the big plot of empty land here.

1.  He asked me what is a general election.  I told him it is the time to choose who will be our government.  He immediately says oh, I have done it 3 times.  I was like what?  He explained he voted three times in school for Head of Prefects.  Oh, I see.

2.  Both of us wear red and with Singapore flags on it.  I said to him, this is a great Singapore event, so, we should wear red.  Tonight we are going to a SDP event.  This is their logo. “Oh, it looks like Star Trek Shirt!”  Yes indeed.

3.  What is SDP?  Singapore Democratic Party.  It is one of the political party.  Just like Star Wars.  The Rebels Alliance Vs. The Galactic Empire.

4.  Of course, we got a lot more parties than Star Wars.  i.e. PAP, Workers Party, SPP, SingFirst, RP, NSP, etc etc etc.

5.  SDP is Singapore Democractic Party, PAP is People Action Party, …. and the list go on to decode every acronyms...

6.  As a Singaporean, you have to be responsible, and not to waste your vote.  Your vote is important.

7.  “When can I vote?” I think after 21.

8.  Also voting is secret.  You write on a piece of paper no one can see.  And you usually don’t tell people who you vote for.  But it is OK if you want to tell.  Is up to you.

9.  These people supports a particular leader, that is why they come and listen what they have to say.  And at this time, the kid heard one of the candidate says how young when he learned about politics and be interested in politics.  Which is 8 years old.  I immediately pointed to him and say “Hey, you are 8 years old!” “No, I am 9.”  “No, your birthday is in October, so, you are still 8”.  Hahahahaha

10.  This is the leader of this party tonight.  Hear the cheers.  People come to see him. 

11.  I say son, remember this.  This is the crowd.  Just like the NDP like that.  A lot of people.  Always see with your eyes, and listen with your ears.

And of course, for an 8-year old boy, this seems boring to him.  So, I gave him my iPhone so that I can listen.  :)

Almost at the end, the national anthem.

And lastly, the pledge.  

12.  See, election is a Singapore event.  That is why we sang the anthem and vow our pledge at the end.  You now know how important it is. Remember, why some day I have to go back to JB to vote for my country?  And could not sent you to Badminton class and Robotics class, because I went back to my own country to vote.  So, when you grow up, you will do the same.  Vote for your country.  

Oh ya, I also got myself some books to read on the plane next week.  HaHaHaHa… I bought four of them.

As I need to send a very sleepy and tired boy home, I cannot join the queue to get Dr. Chee’s latest book (the forth book) signed by the author.  

So, I asked my friend to help me get Dr. Chee to sign the book.  

Ah.. I saw my book (on the right) is signed.  And it is addressing to me “Ken”.. wow… one of my very few books that has the author’s autograph.  Cool.  

Again...

Come Sep 11, Vote Wisely my Singaporean friends.  Open your heart and listen to both sides or three sides of the stories.  Just vote according to your heart.  

As I share with you before my feelings… I really envy this country has a very transparent way of voting in elections, and I enjoy every moment of it as if I am a Singaporean.

I do like some of the PAP candidates, some I really dislike, and you know who.  Heng ah… 

I do like what I see from the oppositions, but some, it is really cannot make it.  Women with baby is not a weakness!!!

This election is very clean so far, and I see not too many people “Chu Pattern”.

A lot of candidates says the wrong thing, but hey, life moves on.  Liu-Lian Bo Pao-Chiak!

But so far, I like the one person speech so much and I have watch it at least 5 times… and he makes a lot of sense.  He is not even a candidate.  

He is a Dr. Ting Choon Meng.

- I was shocked to hear the statistics (not sure is true or not) that every day 1 or more committed suicide in Singapore.

- I was sad to hear the 12 years old kid say “When I incarnation, I don’t want to be human.” “I don’t want to do homework”.  She scored straight As with 2 B’s and yet, she committed suicide.

- I agreed to him saying, when we sick and talk to doctor, we always say, “I am OK, no feel pain, anything”.  Then, few years later, the guy become sick and die.  This often happen in real life.  Even I sometimes do so.  That reminds me, I need to go for a medical check up soon.  hahahaha

- He commented that some candidates say “he will do this, he will do that, he will improve this and that.”  He said, this is a basic.  If you are elected, this is what your should be doing, it is basic.  That is why you get paid for.  So, candidates should talk about the policies instead of saying he do this and that.  hahaha

- many things he said is true.  Chasing for paper, chasing for money.  That makes the country lost its soul something like that.
